Live La Brea Apartments

Looks like the guy who accompanies the tour isn’t the manager. When I ask about basic things like how maintenance works he says he doesn’t know, and leads to another random guy who is in charge. Doesn’t even pick up a call, only texts.

I was almost trying to apply since I did like the apartment itself - good location for my work, new and clean… But without any basic information like what real estate company/person am I contracting with, I was required to submit all my personal information -... including full number of my SSN and driver’s license.

So I thought I deserve the right to know. I asked to whom am I providing my info. This ‘probably manager’ answers “To me”… When I asked who are you then, he responded just don’t apply then.. HOW CAN I TRUST WHEN I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHO THEY ARE? I have to give all my info and pay expensive rent!! So starting from this very beginning of application, they already lost my trust and I am sure they can’t even manage the building. If they are treating possible new tenants like this, you know how they will be to already-residing people…

I'm sure this will be a great property but I walked through a construction site yesterday. Very much a waste of time and a smidge dangerous. No elevator and walking to 3rd and 7th floor...

This is a beautiful building but it is not move in ready, so I am not sure why they're not explicit about it. You will be dealing with an individual with no name, and a gmail account who might talk to you in a condescending way. If you apply for a unit, just know that there is no actual move in date. You will just be on a waitlist for whenever they decide that it is ready for move in. The whole experience left a bitter taste in my mouth and I hope the owner reassesses how he does business and... talks to people. Read More
