Fantastic Apartment Building and Staff!
This is a simply amazing building to live in! Tanya, the property manager is on top of everything, very friendly and her maintenance staff is prompt and professional. She lives on site and is always pleasant when I pass her in the lobby. I have lived here for about six months now and love my studio apartment. It is much larger than other studios in the area (about 500 square feet) and was fully restored to the 1930s character right before I moved in. Crown molding, hardwood floors, built in... cabinets, original art deco tile in the bathroom and French windows. The layout of the space is great and I was able to break it up into a living room and bedroom area. Probably the only downside to the building is the heat in the summer. My unit is north facing which helps, but the units are not equipped with a.c and since the building is older you are not allowed to have a portable one. Make sure to buy a few fans before the summer heat hits. I also recommend getting a residence parking permit for the neighborhood since you can only get a parking spot in the building if you rent a one bedroom. Parking can be tough. The neighborhood is eclectic and interesting. If you are not used to Hollywood and urban living it may be a bit of a culture shock. The area is definitely improving but not perfect. I avoid Hollywood Blvd. most of the time since it is so crowded, but the building is centrally located and I can get to Weho in 10 minutes, Silverlake in 15 and the Valley in 10 minutes without traffic. I definitely recommend this building.
