Not fun
My experience at the Crossing has been a series of disappointments, marked by poor communication, leasing errors, a severe cockroach infestation, and a general lack of consideration for residents' well-being.
I asked to do a video call of my future unit, but instead, I was provided with misleading photos of a renovated unit, leaving me to discover upon moving in that my actual apartment differed significantly. The lack of transparency regarding whether the unit was remodeled or not, coupled... with a sideloaded $100 increase for a six-month lease, added unnecessary confusion and frustration to an already cumbersome process.
A leasing mistake further exacerbated my experience when a supposed $650 credit turned out to be an error. This miscalculation led to an unexpected charge during the move-in process, showcasing a lack of attention to detail and further contributing to the overall dissatisfaction.
The most distressing aspect of my stay was the widespread cockroach infestation throughout the entire complex. Despite being aware of the issue from prior reviews, the reality exceeded my worst expectations. Cockroaches infested various areas, including the hot tub area, the leasing office, bathtub, bathroom cracks, kitchen, sink, in my jacket, and in my bed. I found at least 50 of them during my first two months. The management's response to complaints was inadequate, offering nothing more than budget raid spray and sticky traps. They even provided a free and inconvenient pest control visit that made the apartment smell even worse!
Taking matters into my own hands, I resorted to using Terro Roach Bait Gel, a more effective and less intrusive solution. Placing bait strategically, I managed to eradicate the infestation within a month.
The inconsiderate behavior of fellow residents further diminished the quality of living. Trash dumping and spills around the dumpster, regardless of its fullness, created a disgusting environment. Additionally, the noise from children playing with scooters in the walkway during late afternoons was a constant annoyance, with seemingly indifferent parents allowing the disturbance to persist.
Further compounding these issues, the complex's security infrastructure proved consistently unreliable. The gate was prone to malfunctioning, frequently getting stuck in the open position.
On the bright side, I believe it is the cheapest complex in the area and the service people respond fast.
Good luck.
