DO NOT COME HERE!
I'm a current resident and I am suffering here DAY AND NIGHT.
During the day, I literally feel them hammering and drilling - all thanks to the paper-thin walls and their inconsiderate renovations in some of their units. Seriously, the walls here are paper-thin - thickness of a single wood slate - and you can hear EVERYTHING. Plus, because the walls are so thin, you can FEEL everything as well - the building SHUDDERS every time someone closes the door. Oh, and this is only during the day.
Now... during the NIGHT, if you're so unlucky as I am, and you have a particularly active neighbor upstairs who likes to pace around the living room at night - you are submitting yourself to experiencing mini-earthquakes on a daily basis. And this is SO BAD because the walls are so freakishly thin, my apartment shakes and I can hear the CREAKING sound with it.
I've spoken with the management here MULTIPLE TIMES and they've dismissed my complaints, basically saying they're "reasonable" and that this type of noise cannot be avoided in old communal buildings. They're UNHELPFUL, DISMISSIVE. They've treated me like a hyper-sensitive freak, and basically told me to "get over it." I've honestly NEVER given a bad review to any of the other places I've lived at - and I've been in the Bay Area for a decade.
DO NOT COME HERE - you're giving up any peace and quiet and comfort you would rightly deserve with the rent prices around here.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts of Palo Alto Plaza.
We do understand that many residents are now working from home and the apartment renovation projects can have an impact on those who may need a quieter work environment. As management stated,... work does need to continue so we can prepare apartment homes for the new incoming residents. While noise cannot be completely avoided with this type of remodeling, we are limiting it as much as possible by working only during business hours, and making sure that the workers are as unobtrusive as possible while doing the needed work.
Palo Alto Plaza is a beautiful community with lush gardens, modern apartment features, excellent amenities and dedicated management. However, that does not change the fact that it is an apartment community, which by its very nature means that there are many living in close proximity to each other. It also means that a certain level of noise is to be expected. While we gladly address excessive and/or inappropriate noise, every resident has a right to enjoyment of their apartment, and we cannot limit the normal day-to-day activities of either you or your neighbors. That being said, I would still encourage you to contact the leasing office if you are ever disturbed by excessive or inappropriate noise.
I regret to hear that you had some plumbing issues in your apartment home recently. While living in an apartment building with multiples floors, at times you may experience a back-up. I strongly encourage you to reach out to the leasing office so that this problem can be inspected and repaired fully to ensure it is not a consistent issue.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns, and please do not hesitate to contact Bryan in the leasing office if you have any other topics to discuss.
