Would not recommend
Sketchy part of town, and yes, it’s cheap living compared to San Diego rental prices... but you “pay the price” in a sense. Homeless people rinse off and clean themselves in the pool and they break in to sleep in the pool area over night, I’m not judging, and I feel terrible for them, however it feels unsafe as a resident, and it was intensified over COVID time - lots of theft in the area (check nextdoor.com for many examples of how much theft is in the area) and lots of drugs, have seen many... body bags in the area from homeless dying on the street (it’s so sad), feels unsafe to walk around, had someone try to break into my apartment in the middle of the night and have had my car vandalized, cops didn’t/can’t do anything. Spent 1 year here and would highly recommend you spend a little more $ to rent elsewhere. Thought it’d be fine, but overall, not worth it. Construction next door is still in full force for another year. Starts at 7am. To top it all off - Management company flubbs numbers to make it so you barely get any of your deposit back ... and they tried to charge me for not giving them 30 days notice to move out when I never needed to (only signed a 1 year lease) just overall a sketchy place to rent from, they’ll take advantage wherever they can. Wouldn’t rent here again.
