Don't expect much
Do yourself a favor and tour other nearby complexes.
My husband has lived here for 2 years and I moved in during the 2nd year. Our contract recently ended and could not wait to move out. Since their former, and most competent, representative, Shara, left this place has significantly gone down the drain. No one seems competent.
1. No one from the office, including maintenance, ever leaves a message whenever voicemail is reached regarding important matters leaving you thinking it was a spam call... . You reach out to them and you also need to do your own follow-up to make sure they're doing their job.
2. Somehow issues turn back to being the renter's fault, and they do not own up to their mistakes, nor ever apologize.
3. We were charged a cleaning fee when we paid for our apt to be professionally deep cleaned, we even went back and did a final check.
4. We are being charged a "damage" fee for a wear-and-tear paint issue, nothing was damaged.
5. We are being charged a "rent" fee even though we have already paid our final month in full.
6. Our parking spot was taken over by another car. An office staff even casually admitted to overbooking parking spaces.
7. There is no guest parking ever available.
8. They require a 60-day moveout notice, not 30-day like other complexes.
9. They will email you a moveout day notice AFTER the 60-day window so you're either stuck extending your rent to not get fined or pay the late notice fine, which is about $500 over the rent amount.

Property Manager at Monterey Grove responded to this review
Hello. Thank you for providing your feedback. It is our loyal residents that help us grow and become a better community. We apologize if at any time you felt our customer service did not meet your expectations. Any concerns expressed or that may have... been previously missed, we would certainly take the time to address. Upon inspection of an apartment after a resident moves out charges are assessed and determined by the result of this inspection and appear in each resident’s final account statement. If damages need to be addressed these charges will be deducted from their security deposit. In Monterey Grove’s lease agreement it is indicated that a 60 day notice to vacate is required if a customer wishes to not renew their lease. In the event proper notice isn’t given appropriate fees will apply. Reminders about the required 60 day notice to vacate are shared with all residents at the time renewal offers are sent. We encourage all future residents to review their leasing documents prior to signing and strive to remain transparent on lease requirements by providing reminders when necessary. I was unable to locate your information in our customer records to get an opportunity to look into your feedback more specifically. Please contact me at ICanHelp@aircommunities.com so we can assist further. We look forward to hearing from you. - Susan
