Misleading: Double Security Deposit
The apartments were just ok. I took a tour. The problem was the entire place was being renovated when I toured. Didn’t look as nice as it seems. For some reason the guide failed to show all the amenities. She just showed the unit I’d be living in and made the whole process feel kind of pushy and rushed. She asked for a $100 deposit immediately to “hold the unit”. She explains that the security deposit may double after a credit check which I had no worries about since my credit was very good and... she said we should be fine. As papers are being signed she asks if me and my roommate if are first time renters, which we were. She failed to explain that since we are first time renters we were REQUIRED to pay double security. She made it seem like everything was just based off of our credit scores and normal security deposit would do. Now we are $100 short for nothing and feel misled for our first experience. Never again.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been. We strive to be clear and transparent with all prospective tenants, and we apologize if the information provided during your tour... wasn’t as thorough as it should have been. The $100 deposit is intended to hold the unit while we process applications and credit checks, and we apologize if this wasn’t clearly explained. We always aim to ensure that our residents feel well-informed about the leasing process, including security deposits and any applicable requirements for first-time renters. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly so we can address them. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our communication moving forward.
