TL;DR – If you can afford a little more I would recommend NOT living here
I’m an easy-going person but this apt was horrible. Initial management incompetent. Management changed in past 6 months, helpful. Still problems with actual apt.
Constant Plumbing issues. Toilet clogged every 2 wks. I’ve never had issues with toilet like this, lived in 4 other apts, always use same toilet paper etc. Even maintenance said something wrong with toilet plumbing, but nothing was done. Building had plumbing issues; water shut off for “emergency” monthly. On move-in bathtub with huge... cracks would hold water, and mildew would grow a day after cleaning; manager was notified on move-in. Took maintenance fixing cracks 5x before decision for new tub –SHOULD HAVE BEEN BEFORE MOVE IN. When contractors came to replace tub they didn’t come on day I was told, and left HUGE mess.
Biggest issue - pests. I don’t have any pets, don’t hang out with people with pets. I clean every 2 weeks. First bees coming into apt, not worst. But then nasty bugs, which I initially thought were fleas, in carpet. Absolutely no reason there should have been an infestation in carpet. One of neighbors had a squirrel in apt, and early in mornings I could hear rustling in walls. When I realized there was an infestation in carpet I asked previous management for exterminator, was assured one would come. None came FOR 2 MONTHS. Was repeatedly told exterminator is coming on “this date” but none came. Amazed I could be repeatedly lied to FOR 2 MONTHS. Wasn’t until change in management that something got done. Even then, still got the run around. Asked management to speak with exterminator and tell me info needed to know about infestation, what I needed to do. But no one ever did or passed along incorrect information; exterminator had to come 4x before I was able to move out. I wasn’t notified after the first time no one should be in apt for 4 hours after spraying. I was initially told I should immediately vacuum while place was still wet, which didn’t make sense 1) why would I vacuum up the stuff before it had chance to work and 2) I wasn’t supposed to be in apt while it was wet. All misinformation came from management office. Many tenants having issues that weren’t handled by previous management, when I would go to office there were other tenants waiting to speak with management. 6 months after initial infestation I was asked more questions, and they decided maybe it was a different type of bug. WHY took 6 mos to realize this and try to do something? Incompetent unlivable place
