We are renting out a wonderful home in an unbeatable location with four big and bright bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The house is just four blocks from the Capitol and within walking distance to all D.C. has to offer. The house has a walk score of 95... (!) -- you can walk to the restaurants on Barrack's Row, head up to the hip H Street Corridor, or head downtown to check out all of DC's sights. Within blocks there is a little grocery store, a Starbucks, several restaurants, banks, a dry cleaner, a liquor store, a gas station, and other businesses. Public transportation is also readily accessible, as there is a bus stop around the corner and two metro stops about a 7-minute walk away (Capitol South and Eastern Market). There is residential street parking all around and we have never found it difficult to find a parking spot. The house is also in bounds for Brent Elementary School, one of the best schools in the city.
The house is bright, spacious, modern, and very comfortable. The bedrooms are large, the floor plan on the main level is open, the kitchen is fantastic, and the backyard patio is lovely.
The first level of the home features the living room, dining room, and kitchen in a large, open space -- the perfect place to relax and visit. The kitchen is modern and has two dishwashers, granite counters, and plenty of cabinet space. Double doors with sidelights lead out to the patio, which is a small oasis in the center of the city. There is also a half bath on this level. The back patio has a storage shed and access to 4th Street.
The second floor has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has two closets and an en suite bath that is recently renovated. The second bedroom on this level is also a good size with two big closets and is super sunny. There is a full bath in the hallway.
The third floor has two more huge bedrooms and a full bath. The back bedroom has two big closets. The front bedroom has a beautiful bay window with great views and a walk-in closet. The bathroom on this level has a washer and dryer.
We lived in this home for nine years and loved the location and space. We are anxious to find tenants who will treat it like their own. We are looking for a lease of at least one year, and we are willing to consider permitting a pet. Tenants must pay for all utilities, but note that we have installed solar panels on the house which reduces electricity costs.
