Location, Location, Location!

I lived in the Palisades for a little over 5 years. The draw to it, by far, is the location. Right in the heart of Logan Circle and just blocks from downtown, you are within walking distance to virtually everything you need in DC. To the young professional working in DC it is a no brainer. Tons of dining, shopping, and entertainment options surround you. The apartments are certainly small (all studios), but have spacious walk-through closets that give plenty of storage space. Hot water is... centralized in the building so it never runs out. The complex is small and residents mostly keep to themselves, and there is average noise from other residents in the complex. There is no gym on site, but there is a rooftop common area and grill that is a nice touch and a place to gather on nice days. Reserved parking (for additional monthly) is limited but is nice for such a small complex. They have a secure package delivery system that helps to cut down on package thefts, and a mini office that is staffed daily by the nicest and most friendly lady you will ever meet! The building is dated, and the one slight annoyance from that is that there are plumping repairs taking place almost monthly that require water to be shut off for the entire building usually for a few hours during the week.

I can honestly say though that any issue that came up during my time there were handled swiftly and appropriately from management and maintenance. Flor is the best, as well as the entire maintenance staff who work diligently to fix any problems that come up.

Was happy to call the Palisades home and would certainly recommend it to others!

It is what it is

The location is what this building really has going for it. Walk through an alleyway to Whole Foods and just a couple blocks to downtown offices. Fair price if you're willing to make sacrifices to be in this location. Property management is never on site, maintenance responds quickly but often is not effective at fixing things, and the common areas are a bit tired. Large spaces under unit doors don't do a good job of keeping any noise in or out, but the building is really quiet. Nice little... rooftop area that is never crowded. Management is nice (you'll have to contact via email) but not proactive...took me a while to get them to set up the door code, online payment, tell me where the trash area was (not something you would ever be able to find..."take elevator to 1, take stairs down to garage, turn left and on the right", and the cable connection/line was dead so I had to call Comcast to come out but they had to run around looking for the cable room and it was locked but since no PM on site despite their posted office hours...you get it.
