Poor management
I had the misfortune of speaking to Grace, who said she was the property manager today. I had applied for a 1 bedroom and gotten approved in January. However, unexpected costs in moving here from south Florida caused me to have to push back my move in date a few weeks. She jacked the rate for the apartment way up, even though they were not even holding that unit for me. It worked out to be about a $6,000 difference over the course of the lease. I wrestled with the decision of whether or not to... just go ahead and pay it, and was reached out to about it today. I shared my concerns with the leasing agent who then handed me over to Grace. Then the lies started flowing. When I refuted every lie with facts (calmly and rationally) she got more and more angry and frustrated. Her final lie was that they watched their competitors and matched what the other apartments in the area charged. I told her about a complex I’d looked at less than a mile from them and she told me rudely “Well, go live there, then.” Thank you for the advise, Grace, I think I’ll do just that. I think everyone should follow Grace’s advise and go live somewhere else. If this is how she treats potential tenants, how does she treat the ones that have signed leases? I’m fully aware that she’ll probably comment on this and make me out to be the issue, but what do I have to gain and what does she?
