You Can Find Better
I just moved out of ArtWalk after a 15-month lease and overall I can't recommend this complex. The fire alarm complaints are valid, this happened a few times in the middle of the night. It felt like the police were constantly being called for various reasons. The garage door to the paid parking garage did not work properly and was left open for months and months while I lived there. They charge monthly for pest control but there are rats and mice roaming the outside of the buildings constantly,... not to mention the spiders that were always in my 1st floor unit. The only positive about this place is the location.
But the greatest disappointment was the move-out process. The lease states to give 60 days notice prior to moving out, which might be standard but anyone can agree it's difficult to figure out a living situation 2 months before a lease ends. I gave the leasing office 50 days notice and asked if they could be understanding on this. The answer is no, they will not treat you as a human being, tenants are simply contracts to them. They were not understanding and said I had to give 60 days notice, no matter the circumstances. Because of this 10 day gap, I had to pay an increased rate of $700+ from my rent usual amount, in addition to a $150 month-to-month fee. For those 10 days, I had to pay over $1,200 when I wasn't even living in the apartment. Do yourself a favor and live in a place where the ownership and management are reasonable and treat you like a person, not income.
