Best Value Apartments in the Area
I lived at Marcell Gardens for 3 years to attend chiropractic school, and I knew I wanted to stay there for the duration of school the day I moved in. They have the cheapest rent in the area, and my apartment was still bigger than most of my peer’s apartments at around 850 square feet. I also appreciated the solid infrastructure; the walls are thick and not just hollow dry wall. Pest control comes weekly and I did not have an issue with bugs outside of ants which were addressed promptly.... Outside of the apartment, the staff is very personable, and maintenance is very responsive. The community is close knit and people will know your name. Out of fairness, these are some of the cons: the complex is right next to the railroad tracks, the laundry is communal, there is no garbage disposal, and (if you care about these kind of things, I am tall so sometimes it matters) my ceiling was fairly low at around 7.5 feet. While this was not an issue for me on the second floor, I have also heard people say that there is a decent amount of sound that leaks from the top floor to the bottom floor sometimes. By my judgement, the pros very much outweighed the cons, and you simply can’t beat the price. The railroad tracks never ended up being an issue for me (you will adapt and sleep through it very fast), and the communal laundry is worth it if it means you are paying $150-$300 less a month than any other apartment in the area. No living space is going to be perfect, and given the fact that you have good people managing the property, your issues will be addressed so long as you say something. Lastly, I also lived there through various tropical storms and hurricanes, and there were no issues with flooding. I couldn’t recommend Marcell Gardens enough if you are looking for great value apartments.
