ROACHES, WATERBUGS, WASPS, AND BEDBUGS
The day my husband and I were supposed to move in (Friday 8/23/24), we got a call from the apartment saying that the move-in date had to be pushed back to the following day (Saturday 8/24/24) because they were replacing the carpets, moving furnitures, and "cleaning up". But after everything was done, the manager, Ryan, said that if they had missed anything to make a list for them to be completed monday... by the time we arrived and start moving in, we found out that there were tons of roaches,... waterbugs, and wasps outside!! My husband immediately sent an email to the managers. We had to spend the night at a hotel with my in-laws. There were already roaches in our bags of clothes and boxes! There's a huge hole under the bathroom and kitchen sink, the dishwasher isn't even screwed in all the way and is rusted and dirty, the air filter was disgusting and black, there's a HUGE wasp nest right outside the balcony doors and multiple on the staircases! MY HUSBAND GOT STUNG TWICE WHILE MOVING OUR MATTRESS UP THE STAIRS! We made the list, and since the office was closed Sunday, my husband and I bought all kinds of sprays, traps, bug bombs, and roach tablets to try and get everything under control until Monday. We had to find a hotel until then because we were NOT comfortable sleeping in an infested room. Monday, we walked into the office and gave Ryan the list. We explained everything and we were told that someone will deal with the bugs first thing Tuesday morning around 830am before working down the list. I had to take off work during all of this to help my husband clean, spray, and find a place to stay. Tuesday morning, we got up early and wanted to make sure that there was someone actually there to take care of the bugs. We both literally waited until 12pm and then decided to get some lunch until 1. After lunch, we were told that the apartment was sprayed while we were gone??..... we stayed one more night at the hotel just to be on the safe side and came back Wednesday to check the place. We were going to try and sleep in our apartment for the first time since we moved! My husband decided to check the edges of the matress...THERE WERE BEDBUGS ALL OVER! We decided to sleep at a friend's house that night. Thursday, my husband had to deal with the office, who finally hired a professional pest extermination service. But the office scheduled an appintment for NEXT TUESDAY because they didn't want to pay an additional fee for a sooner date!
