DO NOT MOVE HERE !
As tenants during Covid we were given the option to break our lease with a fee of $1200 and of course whatever last bill was for water, sewer, trash. Of course that was reasonable, seeing how I had to pay to move and not having income at the time. I expressed my hardships and was informed that more than likely the account will go to their law office and the amount could be handled that way; I was okay with that. Time goes on and I get a call from their law office. The amount given via email... was a totally different amount. I was given a ledger of $2600 in damages which is completely false. Because at my time of move and before, Metro Apartments did not have property management present in office. Tenants could reach someone via phone and email however management was not physically present at property. Due to this I did my due diligence and recorded a walk thru video on my iPhone to show how I left my unit. At this point I am going back and forth with Mr. Chin, their attorney. I sent the video along with emails stating the $1200 break lease fee and was given the run around for a year! He even questions the video. Not only was my face in this walk thru video from me turn the camera around, but I also had to screen shoot the video to show the time, date, and location. Continued to give me the run around. Instead of suing me for the funds which I wanted because I had my "proof", the account was sent to collections. If I honestly owed these people $3800 dollars and they claim that I owe these funds for property damages and 1 month rent (I moved on within the time I was granted which was the 3rd) WHY NOT SUE ME FOR WHAT YOU SAY THAT I OWE? I even have an email from Cynthia Mikulait stating that the amount was sent in error soon after that statement was retracked. I tried dealing with the collection company as well but of course those conversations become hostile once I gave my proof on the false claim of property damages and 1 month owed rent. One month owed rent but I disconnected all utilizes. . . . . . okay. I did get a lawyer but that was a waste of time, money, and energy. Overall, DO NOT MOVE HERE. Save yourself the headache, these people are dishonest, and I am trying to save you from the hardship. And yes, this is on my credit. I have recently reached out email and phone, no response, nothing. Hopefully this will go someone attention. And if you would like to see this information, I will be happy to email it to you.
