Cute, Clean, and Conveniently Close (to Boston College, buses, and the T)
Let's go over the cons first:
1. There isn't any parking spots. It is all street parking.
2. The studio apartments can be a little small.
3. In my experience the studio kitchens can have issues with counter space (i.e., wowie that's not a lot of counter space). But we added in a shelf area and it's fine now.
4. Not all the units are owned by the same company so you may encounter communication issues between maintenance people (for example, if your shower is leaking and it's from the unit... upstairs and your unit is owned by someone else--there may be some instances where the two property management places aren't the greatest at communicating with each other).
5. Not so much bad as it is weird but the mailbox to send mail out is 1/2 block down the street. I'm not sure why it is but it's the only closest mailbox we can find. However, there is a mailbox unit for the apartment complex for incoming mail and that's great.
6. No washer or dryers, laundry mat is across the street though.
Now for the pros!
1. GREAT LOCATION! It's literally right next to a T stop, as well as close to the 86 bus stop, and it's right next to a stop for the Boston College shuttle. It's also a short walk to the C and D line.
2. Very safe and quiet. It's right next to a Jewish temple and mosque. Despite being close to the road, I've never had issues with it being noisy.
3. There's a cute backyard where you can let your dogs run around plus the tree coverage is A .
4. The apartments themselves are very cute and easy to clean. They are hardwood floors (nicely maintained for an older building) and there are lots of big windows for natural light (which is a big plus for me).
5. The maintenance people arrive very quickly and get the problems done.
6. Close to a Whole Foods and Star Market (as well as a Trader Joe's if you want to use the C line which is a five minute walk from the building).
7. Pet friendly! I have tons of neighbors with dogs and cats, we have a cat as well. Great location for having a pet.
8. Right across the street is a park. It's smaller but very clean and kid friendly, there's an attached playground that's super nice. The park itself is pretty new.
9. Easy access to restaurants and cafe. Around the corner there is Fuel Cafe and little places to eat, and you're right across the street from a Japanese restaurant, Thai restaurant, and corner store.
Overall: I love it here. It's peace and quiet in the city. Great place for families and students.
