Extremely poor construction and worst management
Lived here for multiple years and this was my worst experience living in an apartment complex. I did not leave early because I was going to buy a house and wanted to go through the hassle of moving only once (have toddlers), in retrospect that was a very bad decision because things never improved despite management's reassurances. Here's why I am giving them a 1 Star review, I would give them zero star review if that was possible.
1. Very poorly constructed building. Walls are paper thin, you... can hear people walking in the hallway and the vibration of elevator. Hallway on 2nd floor has multiple inch deep pits below carpet which have not been fixed in many years.
2. Management is extremely stingy about repairs. If your AC units are not cooling or making loud noises, they won't fix or replace them. All 3 of my ACs had these issues and they begrudgingly replaced only one after repeated calls.
3. This building has the worst sort of wood floors. In my apartment the floor was coming apart in 2 different places, tiles were popping up for some reason. The management inspected it and said fixing this is not possible and they don't want to replace the floor of the living room. Go figure.
4. The building had a water leak problem in the main bedroom through one of the walls. It persisted for over a year. Once it got so bad 1/3 of the carpet got soaked. They promised to replace the carpet. I chased the super for 6 months, every time he gave me a new date but the carpet was never replaced.
5. Perpetual rent increases without making any improvements to the building or your apartment.
6. Leasing office staff is plain rude once you move in and have any issues. They will be super nice to you before move in. But once you are living there or talk about vacating they will show zero empathy and make you pay full month rent even if you are staying 6-8 days and have provide required notice and er lease terms.
Rahway is a good place to live if you work in Manhattan or have to use Nj transit, because even semi express trains stop here. If you choose to live in Rahway, I'd strongly urge you to avoid this apartment building. In the past 2 years, 3 new buildings have been constructed, I don't know personally how good or bad things are there but may be give them a shot.

Thank you for your recent review. We contacted the super about your claim he stated that your carpet was replaced and that a new stainless stove was installed. According to the terms of the lease, we cannot prorate days not stayed in the apartment,... as we need make ready time for the next tenants. You were made aware of these lease terms and we are sorry, but there are rules in place just for this reason. We need to treat everyone fairly and equitably. We sincerely wish you all the best in the future.
