Limited Access
Forget about the "so-called" tennis courts, fitness center or pool. The residents have limited access to these "sub-par" amenities. Additionally, don't plan on doing laundry after 5 pm or on Sundays as the management's decision to lock the laundry rooms after 5 pm to prevent the abundant bottle collecting poor and homeless is a solution more for the convenience of the staff than it was for the residents. Many residents have to work during the day, and need to keep their work clothes laundered,... but the management is not or does not seem interested in making their lives easy. So plan to lug your clothing to the various laundry mats in the area. Also, as I pointed out above, shred your mail. There is a regular cadre of poor rummaging through the trash area with diffidence from the staff. When I asked about it, they looked at me as though there is not a single thing that can be done to prevent this. What can we do was the incredulous response. Hire a security guard? Oh, right, costs money, so no, no, no. You would do better to continue looking for a different place to live near UNLV.
