Property Going Downhill
I've been living here long enough to witness both the positive and negative aspects of this property. The best thing that ever happened to this property was the property manager, Sonya (who has since left). She was proactive, responsive, sent out notices, and had a great team working with her. However, Stevenson Terrace has had 4 different property managers since then, and the building's condition has deteriorated. There have been issues such as garbage piling up, roach infestations, garbage in... the halls, lack of maintenance, parking violations, problems in the laundry room, leaks, weed smoke, and poor responsiveness from property management. The building and apartments have a lot of potential, but they need the right property manager, a dedicated maintenance team, and accountability for residents who break lease terms. If you are considering renting here, I wouldn't completely discourage you, but it's important to be aware that every apartment has its own set of issues. The building is quite large, so there may be residents who have mice and others who don't. I have enjoyed living in my apartment over the years, but I've noticed the property heading in the wrong direction. It seems like the property is prioritizing maintaining the grounds and elevators over other important issues. Money is being spent on installing new elevators and signage, but the building only has one maintenance person, which seems unreasonable. I would advise using your best judgment when deciding to rent here. Ask honest questions about the garbage pile-ups, maintenance issues, and tenants violating lease terms, as these are all factors that will affect your experience while living here.
