Dorm Living / Paper Home
I've lived at the Old Mill Village for years and this year is my last. As the rent steadily increases to exorbitant amounts, the management companies and owners fail to take into account that the buildings are ancient and the walls are paper thin. Aside from massive heating bills (because the heat simply flows out the single pane windows), I constantly hear my neighbors TV, music, dog, and loud footfalls. And as the property owner ‘upgrades and renovates’ the units a new twist has emerged. They... renovated/installed a bathroom over my second bedroom, so now I can hear the upstairs neighbors taking a leak and flushing the toilet! If you don’t want to feel like you are living at a dorm made of paper thin walls, then don’t live here. It was tolerable when the rent was low, but not worth the skyrocketing rent now being requested.
