Don't sign a lease unless the unit is built and available
My daughter and her roommates signed a lease in April of 2022 and were told that move in would be in August 2022, ready for the next school. In July, we were told that the place wouldn't be ready until October and they provided temporary housing. That date continually pushed out to 2023. In late January 2023, they were informed that they will be able to move in to their house on Feb 28 which they were excited about. Just today, Feb 20th, we received a letter that a) their place would not be... ready and b)that they had until March 15th to move out of the temporary housing. So now the girls have an impossible task of finding a place to live and sign a lease and move to a new place in the middle of a school year. Their currently place, the Ruckus is forcing them to sign a lease through the summer and paying more than what their rent would have been at the new place they were supposed to live in.
Stay away from Aspen and confirm that place is ready and available before committing to a lease.
