Living in Portsmouth NH

At the mouth of the Piscataqua River, Portsmouth is a city immersed in American history from its Native American origins to Paul Revere's Midnight Ride. The centuries-old downtown features many of the original architecture but now houses breweries, cafes, highly rated restaurants, theaters, shops, and, of course, museums. The former homes of John Paul Jones and Governor John Langdon, as well as the Strawbery Banke Museum and other historical sites, can all be found downtown. The crown jewel of the historic downtown district is Prescott Park, a riverfront green space featuring walking paths and a garden. Outside of downtown, you'll find modern developments featuring neighborhoods, retail centers, and the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease. The other parts of the city include untouched natural areas like Stauber and Sagamore Creek Headlands. Portsmouth is centrally located to other New England cities as it's only 50 miles east of Manchester and one hour north of Boston.
