Linden is a suburban community about 20 miles from New York City separated from Staten Island by the Arthur Kill strait. The less than one-hour drive to Staten Island is made easy thanks to Goethals Bridge. Linden itself is made up of mostly residential areas with a variety of apartments in longstanding buildings for rent as well as a few single-family homes for rent. Outdoor recreation is provided by community parks like John Russell Wheeler Park and Memorial Field Park as well as streams and trails flowing in and around town. Most of Linden's amenities like grocers, banks, and convenience stores are situated along Wood Avenue and Edgar Road. Edgar Road also houses Linden Airport. Outside of town, residents have access to all the amenities of New York while also having more outdoor recreation provided by the woods to the west.
