So spacious!

I live in a 3- bedroom with vaulted ceilings and absolutely love how spacious it is. The elevator makes bringing grocery (especially cases of water) super easy and convenient. I highly recommend.

Don’t waste your money

What a joke, “luxury” should be taken out of this. Good luck getting in contact with anyone at the front to include management when you need them. Multiple complaints were sent via email, phone call, and even in person. Nothing gets done. I recommend staying at a 1 star hotel over this place. The plumbing over flowed within a month of living there, the management is terrible. They pride themselves on customer service. I feel bad for cottonwood for taking over. They seem like they care but... management here is terrible. Go elsewhere.

Difficult leasing

My initial experience was great. Kevin was very helpful and we found a great apartment at a great price. The admin fee for the application is a little steep at over $400, and they don’t roll any of this into the initial expenses. They don’t show you a copy of the lease until you’ve put the electricity in your name, which is also strange. The lease is pretty standard, so I signed.

That’s where things stopped going great. They did not provide an executed copy of the signed lease back, then they...
called me a few days before the move in date and told me the apartment would not be ready in time. Mind you that I took time off of my new job, had arranged for the delivery of furniture, paid for renter’s insurance (a property requirement), arranged for electricity, updated my mailing addresses, and had paid for a hotel to cover the days until the move in.

Kevin was apologetic and you could tell he was just being put in a difficult situation. The management only authorized him to apologize. They didn’t say he could offer anything, like an exact move in date (I was given a range of possible days), help with covering hotel fees, etc. Nothing. I was then told I would be given an updated copy of the lease by the day prior to the initial move in date. Well, it’s the end of the day and they haven’t sent it and don’t answer the phone. Just left in limbo.

So here I sit. In the hole for the cost of furniture, the delivery fees for said furniture, the admin fees for the application, the renter’s insurance, lost time at work, and the cost of covering a hotel. I have no idea how long I need the hotel for. No idea if they’ll actually keep their word or just put the apartment on their website and lease to someone else. No idea what they would do if I went and found somewhere else. Would they execute the lease I already signed and claim I owe them the agreed upon money? Who knows? I had to press the office to provide something in writing saying the apartment wasn’t ready on time. Only then was I finally provided with something saying “we hope to have it ready on Sunday”.

I want to love this place. I really do. The complex is nice. The apartment was fairly priced. The staff was friendly. The location is great. But this experience has made that incredibly difficult.

Unexpected Rate Increases

After one year of on-time payments, two weeks before we were to sign our new lease they increased the rent $400. That's a more than 23% increase. Not $50, $100, but $400. Which is way over industry standard. Shocked doesn't come close to how we felt. They told us it's coming from corporate. There was not a hint of warning. So prepare yourself for this when you choose this place.
