Love the property!

I recently toured this apartment community and was very impressed with the experience. The leasing team was professional, knowledgeable about the area, and super welcoming. The leasing agent is an Athens native, and she took the time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed or pressured.
The property was clean, well-maintained with a crisp rainforest scent. Overall, the tour left a wonderful impression, and I would highly recommend scheduling a visit if you’re considering this… community.

You are just a dollar to them

After 6 years, I was told that I could not renew my lease because the management company wanted to renovate the apartment - I had 60 days to get out of my home.

Several units in the building opened up around the time they told me to leave, but they made no effort to relocate my family and me until the last moment when I cried on the phone after the front office called asking to be let in the day of to measure for renovations. It was a halfhearted effort for a different floor plan made shortly… before I was to move out. The front office implied several times that I would no longer be able to afford my apartment, which I understand now that I see my floor plan is going for hundreds of dollars more. They kept bringing up that they were within their legal right while I struggled to find a place.

Seriously, the housing market is so bad that I would see an apartment get posted online, and it would disappear before I could even schedule an appointment to see it. I ended up paying hundreds of dollars to reserve apartments just to see them! Athens housing is NOT friendly for working-class folks right now, so please, please, please do not move into 1287 Shoals unless you have the resources to move again when they decide they can get more money from someone else. If you have enough resources that a 60-day move notice isn't a concern, please consider giving your money to a more ethical landlord.

I moved to 1287 Shoals Apartment Homes in July of this year (2021) and couldn’t be happier! The move-in was extremely organized and professionally orchestrated!
