Our washer and dryer have not worked in months...Many months. You'd think if it was part of the rent, we would get a refund!!! Also, after reading the "amenities", there is assigned parking. You have to pay to have sheltered parking. Building lobbies are rarely cleaned. I cleaned it myself last fall. Hasn't been done since (today is 1/11/16). Our refrigerator freezes anything along back wall top shelf to bottom shelf. Asked last fall for different one. Still nothing.

Location is everything

My current apartment is located in a small town in northwest Iowa. The apartment complex was built in the 1970's and still keeps the relatively same appearance because it is one of the only apartment complex's for those other than the elderly. To begin, my apartment roof leaks and I have several buckets to catch the water when it rains. I have complained to the management and the owners of the apartment and it has been explained to me that the cost is to great for them to repair it. Next is... the hardwood floors which is in half of my apartment and there are gaps between the boards and parts sticking up. All of my closets and pantry have no doors. The carpet in both of my bedrooms is from the 70's and I was told will not be replaced by the management. Then as per the grounds of the apartment complex, the trash never gets picked up and the police are out here on a constant basis for various reasons. I would move but there is very limited availability of apartments in the local area unless one wants to drive greater distances back and forth to work.
