Great building owners
I moved here 2016 and I wish I had come sooner. I was here during the remodeling. I love my apartment. Plenty of windows, hardwood floors and nice size rooms. Management is fair, just keep communication open and truthful. Friendly neighbors, well kept in cleaning inside and out. Very warm in winter, radiator heat.
Great location. Summer time is party center with street fairs.

Nice building, fun area
I lived here before they re-did the lobby and repainted, and it's so much nicer now. They also put in an electronic entry for the front door which is nice. It's so easy to get on a bus to go downtown from here and the other apartments around here are really expensive in comparison. It's old but it's the best apartment I've had in chicago so far.

Great building, vintage feel
I really like it here. The neighborhood has changed a lot in the last year or two - I go to University of Chicago and enjoy living somewhere that is close to campus but not too close. It's also about a 10-15 minute bus ride to downtown and I don't have to change buses. The area is pretty nice for taking walks in the summer, especially by the lake. I like winters because I usually have to crack the windows so it doesn't get too hot in my apt hahaha! I saw another reviewer posted something... about the elevator not working... This is like one of those old, probably slow, huge elevators from the turn of the century. I don't know if it's been working since the 1920's (lol) - I don't mind it. I live upstairs and three flights of stairs is really manageable for me. The rent is pretty decent for the area and the size of the apt, and there are a lot of trendy little stores and restaurants off 53rd... I like it and am comfortable here and will be sad when I have to leave the city!

Waiting to fall apart
I've lived in this building for 20 years and slight improvements have been made. It's an old building with old wiring that can't be replaced with fear of the rent being jacked up to blue blazes. Broken elevator that can't be fixed...or the building would short out. It's a o.k. building, i wish it could be better.
