Pretty good for the price and location
Pro's: Great location, Red Line is two blocks to the West and Lake Michigan is about three blocks to the East where you can go running and see a beautiful view of downtown Chicago. Old Town is close to the Northwest, fancy Gold Coast area to the South East. Starbucks is right downstairs, nightlife available right outside. Some apartments facing away from Division are fairly quiet. Jewel-Osco (closed as of the summer of 2015) is a block away. Laundry on the second floor, never had to wait to use... it. Paid $900 for a studio, about 500 sq ft. Hardwood floors. Rarely heard my next door neighbors. The janitor is easy accessible, really helpful, quick to respond.
Cons: Small kitchen, my friends said the hallways were creepy, building looks unattractive, packages lay right outside at the entrance, homeless people one to two blocks to the west all the time, demographics are mainly older and/or richer people. Clubs at night one block east attracted drunks at night.
Overall, it was a great place to live. Never felt unsafe, had a lot of things located nearby, good sized/priced studio for a place so close to downtown. I lived here because I had a tight budget. If my budget was still tight, I'd consider moving back here.
