cockroach infestation and smells really bad

They recently had a terrible cockroach infestation and did not properly handle it, making it much worse. No maintenance staff and is very poorly kept. Cockroach infestation has gotten much worse due to poor management. Would not recommend living here.

Dirty, Pests, and Terrible Management

I lived here for a year and a half and it is a shame that the complex has gone so downhill. There is a massive pest problem currently in the building and the management company isn’t doing enough to solve the problem. In addition all of the hallways are extremely dirty and no cleaning. There are dead roaches in the hallway that aren’t cleaned up for months. The walls are thin and the management company is unprofessional. Absolutely do not live here.

Dog Pee - Trash Piles - Unsafe!!

This apartment has gone downhill fast. There is both human and dog pee in the hallways, elevator, and hallway floor at least once a day. It often sits for days and no one cleans it up. Trash piles up in the hallways and sits for over a month at times with roaches coming from the pile. No matter how many times you reach out to management they will do nothing. Units are unsafe and airbnb guests are now being allowed into the building. Do not have your mail delivered here or it will be stolen.... Packages walk off with people on a daily basis. Homeless people sleep in the entry way in the winter and summer months. Please do yourself a favor and rent else where. Management is nonexistent and the elevator is unsafe.

Avoid

Let me first start by saying that I really enjoyed living at Millikan on Mass before the property was bought about six months ago by another real estate company. However, shortly after this transaction happened, the safety of the place has really gone downhill.

My fiancé (mid 20’s female) was attacked in the lobby of this apartment complex in February (2021) by a random stranger off the street and there was literally nothing done about it. Police were called (by bystanders), a report was filed,...
and NO additional safety measures were put into place here. In fact, ironically enough, the safety of the complex may have gotten worse! The hosting of AirBnB’s has now been allowed as of May 2021. Look for yourself on the AirBnB website, there are 5-10 apartments for numerous days in the summer open, all in this complex.

There is nothing to prevent somebody from coming into the building (the sliding doors are easy to get into by following far behind somebody or simply waiting for somebody to leave, and sometimes even stuck open for days at a time because they are broke) and you have random people in the complex everyday from AirBnB. This leads to excess noise, trash, and the general lack of people who care about the surroundings they are in. Not to mention packages that get sent to residents are also up for grabs for strangers since they are not in a secure area. We pay for the safety that an apartment complex brings (primarily in rent, the background check that was performed at the onset of the lease, and key fobs) and should not have random people lurking the halls and coming into town every weekend trashing the common areas before leaving. I have reached out to the office about these concerns and have received no response.

I have numerous friends in other comparable complexes on Mass Ave/in the downtown area, and not only are the safety precautions better, they do not allow hosting of AirBnb’s. If you are looking for a safe place that cares about its residents, I would not move here.
