I’m moving elsewhere.

The other reviewer was smart not to sign a lease here. Despite the staff being professional and courteous, these apartments are poorly maintained by the owner and property management company. Last year, the pool was closed for all but a month due to the need for repairs, while this year, it has remained closed for the entire season. No concessions were made for us renters. I cannot wait for my lease to end.

We're sorry to hear about these incidents. We hope you'll stop by the leasing office soon so we can figure out a solution.

Overpriced

I took a tour today and have two things to comment about. First, these apartments were built in 1963. Recently, they replaced cabinets, counter tops and appliances. Nothing else was done to freshen it up. There is NO dishwasher or microwave. Door trim and moldings have 60 years of paint build-up. Closets have painted boards as shelves, which have the same paint build-up issue. Electric and gas are included in the base rent, but water and trash are billed separately on your rent statement. In my... opinion, these are way OVERPRICED! There are so many apartments under construction that rent for about the same price. Google "property management in Bowling Green"

Second, like so many rental properties, they use a qualifier to determine eligibility. "Monthly gross income must be at least 3 times rent." Here's the snag. I'm retired and don't pay taxes. They use my net retirement income in the formula. It's apples and oranges. Paychecks have about 25% deducted for various taxes. It’s money you would never see. It means retired persons have 25% less spending power for rent than an employed person with the exact same take-home pay as I have. How is that fair?

Think again about renting here.

The landlord doesn’t care about tenants or this property aside from the profit extracted from it. While the office and maintenance staff are extremely kind and professional, their hands are tied. Despite rents increasing by $200 per month over the last two years, our summer is once again wrecked because the landlord refuses to fix the pool. It’s bad enough that common areas of the buildings are only cleaned sporadically and we are billed for items usually attributed as costs of doing business,... like preparation of monthly statements, pest treatment and online payment processing, but to pay for amenities which are unusable is unacceptable. Rent elsewhere and enjoy your time at “home”.
