Great Place to Live in Monroe

This was the best rental community I’ve lived in. The leasing office was wonderful and worked with me. They ensure a safe and clean rental community. I Lived here for over a year and never had any issues. The maintenance team was on top of it with any repairs that needed to be done. I highly recommend living here!!

Disorganized

I lived here for two years, and any maintenance issue was taken care of in a timely manner. The office staff was also very friendly when I needed to deal with them. However, after signing the lease for a second year, my roommate had to move out. She moved before the new lease began, so I asked management if she could be removed from the new lease, to which I was told that it was no problem and it would be done. I didn’t follow up to make sure that she was taken off, which was my mistake. She... wasn’t taken off, and remained on the lease for the next year. I’d decided not to renew my lease again, and was offered the opportunity to move out early at no charge, which was great for me because I needed to move, anyway. During my last month there, I receive at least 5 calls asking if my roommate would also be moving out, after repeatedly explaining that she had never been there for the duration of the lease. This was annoying, but I dealt with it because it was the end of the semester and I had other things to worry about. After finally moving out, I was contacted about the security deposit and how it should be dispersed because my former roommate paid half. I had the roommate email the office to let them know that she wanted her half of the deposit, and I called immediately after to verify that they received the email. When I got my check, the entire refund had been sent to me instead of split between us. I don’t know if their system isn’t user friendly, or if they’re just very disorganized, but it’s frustrating to have to repeat myself several times and verify with the office only to be disregarded. The apartment itself was great, but because of this, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Mold and sewer issue

I lived there from 2019- May 2021 and last year I started having issue with my apartment, bad scent in one of the bedrooms and around the bedrooms windows it had mold, report to office last year, finally send the maintenance for the mold and plumber this year to look at the water issue and was informed it was sewer issue, nothing was done about the bad smell or issue, because they said they couldn't smell it. Eventually we could see the water stain from the sewer in carpet. When it was time... to renew my lease in April I asked could they move me to another unit because of the issue, they didn't have any available at the moment but lady in office said I could pay another security deposit if one come available the next month. I asked could I extend it until July which the head manager told me it would be fine in March but because it was hard to find apartment because of COVID situation. The other lady said No. So I decided to decline renewal the lease. So we moved out on May 28,2021 and clean the apartment up. We moved three days before our lease is up , waited two weeks to get my security deposit which I pickup from the office, only to receive $235 back because they charge for cleaning the carpet and cleaning fees, which I don't understand the apartment was fine except for sewer stain in the carpet, my question is why I am charge for that carpet being clean when in the lease it stated if the apartment is damaged, they should have apply my three days of moving out early to that fee. And why landlord move Tennants in when it is health hazard issues are going on with the apartment. And I wish I could upload pictures, but landlords like this need to be stop.

Property Manager at Creel Properties responded to this review

I am sorry to hear your dissatisfaction in our property and wish that we had a better communication of these issues. It is always our intention to have business relations with our residents and to help them with any need in a professional and timely... manner. during a reviewing of our records, a license plumber addressed the drainage issues multiple times, working diligently to repair the problem. It was after sending a camera into the line they discovered what the cause was and were able to repair it. When the complaint come in about a moldy smell, I personally came over to the apartment to inspect because I thought it was due to the plumbing issues. The issue was condensation on the bedroom window seal which I also addressed. I am very sorry you feel mistreated in any way. We always enjoyed your family and felt we made every effort. When your lease ended on May 31, you told the office you would be vacating. If we had any other options for you we certainly would have accommodated you and your family. The normal processing time for a security refund deposit is 30 days and it is clearly stated in the lease, carpet cleaning is automatically deducted as well as any janitorial cleaning fees. We do not charge anything above the amount charged to us. Again, the door of communication is always open to our office.

The best place to live in.

This is the most beautiful apartment I’ve ever found. The neighborhood is really awesome, walking distance to ULM. Officers are really friendly and are always willing to help. Believe me, you’ll never regret living in this place.
Love it!! If I would not be moving to another state, I’d be living here during my whole college life.
