Such a Great Place to Live
The blue plate is such an awesome place to live. This is my second time living here. I lived here 7 years ago and then moved BACK and I'm so so happy I did. Central to literally everything in the city- and unlike many apartment complexes in the city, many old school locals live here. Its not a bunch of tulane frat party kids. Many of the tenants here are actual artists. They offer a certain amount of subsidized apartments for artists and have a strict application process for that. Because of... that the neighbors are a really great eclectic mix of people. If you are a creative person, this is a FANTASTIC place. Each apartment has a space in the hallway to hang your artwork. The building is super diverse which I love. Every apartment there is beautiful. Poured concrete floors, high ceilings. The two bedrooms have en suite bathrooms in each bedroom. Utilities are on solar panels so your utilities are low. Bad weather is a non issue. Beautiful roof to have a drink on. Even a performace space you can rent and sound proof room to practice in. Never seen any kind of bug or rodent there. Ive never felt unsafe there. My mail never gets stolen like every other apartment I've had in the city. The super is awesome and responsive. Property manger is great. I plan on staying here as long as I can. If you are not used to apartment living, that can be a factor. The building isnt loud but its an apartment building and sometimes you hear people. The apartments have great acoustics so if you have a two bedroom, you may hear each other. Its never enough to intrusive or annoying.
