OUT OF HAND! PLEASE READ!

I don’t recommend them. While living here we have complained and complained about the roaches and rats and they did nothing about it. No matter how clean we keep the place they just kept coming. We had realized that they came do to a neighbor moving out and construction man tearing the walls because they had a lot of roaches and rats. When ever we would ask for maintenance they’ll never come it’ll be weeks but one thing they do is come into your home unannounced with a spare key they have. I was... walked in on 5 times and was very upset. I have pets and they kept bothering me about them for no reason because I pay the fee in order for me to have them living with me. The neighbors upstairs had the sink on and the water overflowed now we have stains and water bubbles on our ceiling and they of course did nothing about it when we called to get it fixed. Now they are banging on our door telling us we have to move out and that they’re giving up two months but we are on time with our rent and pay the dog fee so I have no idea why. I really don’t recommend these apartments.

Where do I even start?!

I thought this apartment was going to be the best place to move when I first applied and did the tour. But soon after moving in, I realized that everything was not as it had seemed. First, less than 60 days after I moved in, I saw my first mouse. My husband kept telling me that we had one and at first I didn’t believe him. Only because our house was always clean and tidy. Then one day I saw it running along the base boards and apologized for not believing him before. We caught and threw away the... trap that the mouse was on. Soon after that, about 3 months later we had another mouse. This time it was not so easy to catch since they had recently did some rewiring and I guess the new dry wall was thinner than the last. So it made it very easy for mice to borrow through. So we caught and threw away the trap with the second mouse on it. One day (and that is no exaggeration) we came home after dinner and saw another mouse running in the direction of our room. At this point, me and my husband were at odds about moving because during this time our jobs are very demanding for our time so we have no time to move. So we had to settle for another year in this apartment and I regretted it the moment we signed the lease.
Main take away s for those who don’t like to read:
•cheap rent but it comes at a price
•rodent problem even with keeping a clean house
•when touring your new place keep a close eye out for anything that moves
•Lastly, Always Remember something that seems to good to be true probably is!!

Harbor City Townhomes

I am almost done with my lease and I can say it is a lot of ups and downs. I have had a huge problem with mice since I moved in. Exterminator comes every month no help. Employees at rental office really unprofessional. But maintenance is the best any problems they are fixing them. Nice and cozy first place. Neighbors are inconsiderate and trifling. But other then the pest problem I will be renewing my lease.

Unsafe and Dirty

My roommate and I moved in Southwood Townhomes in August of 2018. We knew it was a generally unsafe area, but the little Townhome Community seemed safe and friendly. Walking to my car in the morning, I would often find another resident outside to say "good morning" to. Within the first month of living there, we noticed the roaches. They were all over our kitchen appliances - in and out of the oven, dishwasher, and sink. They finally got an exterminator out in late December...3 months later. By... then, our neighbor's washing machine flooded OUR kitchen, our mail had been ripped apart and stolen, 4 of our neighbor's townhouses were broken into, and my roommate's car was stolen out of the parking lot. We decided to break the lease in order to find a safer and cleaner place to live and still had to pay a full 3 months rent, even after all that had happened. Do not live here!

Home and Office are great, but the management company are awful

The property is using it's corporate power to put us in an impossible situation.

On September 21, 2017 we executed all leasing documents, including a pet addendum with a description of our dog. We provided pictures and shot records as requested. We received the keys on September 23rd and moved our things in that weekend. Near the end of October they requested a letter from our vet stating that our dog is not a pit bull.

I agreed to see what I could do, though indicated that to my knowledge it...
is not possible to determine the exact mix of a dog (he is a rescue). Our vet stated that he could not determine what breeds the dog may be mixed with in a letter, which was forwarded to the property immediately upon receipt.

A gentleman showed up at our home a few days later while my husband was out walking our dog. He pet him, said he is definitely a pit bull, and demanded that we get a DNA test, without identifying himself. After putting the dog in the house my husband asked who he was. He said the property manager and that if we do not get the dog DNA tested we would be evicted.

On Monday, October 30th we received a letter from their lawyer advising our approval for our dog had been revoked on the grounds that he is a pit bull and we had until November 1st to remove the dog from the property or face eviction.

As of October 31st 2017 we have our dog boarding off-site.

On November 6th after many failed attempts my husband was finally able to contact their lawyer, as the property refused to speak to us. The lawyer stated that the breed did not matter, they were revoking permission for the dog. We asked that we be let out of our lease and the lawyer said she would discuss with the property and get back to us. I began seeking help at this time. November 20th we attempted to pay December rent and realized the pet rent had not been removed. When we asked the leasing office about this they instructed us to come to the office to sign an addendum to remove the pet rent.

Today, we again attempted to pay December rent and could not. We contacted the office and were told their lawyer would be contacting us. The lawyer called within a few hours claiming she didn't know what we wanted, after a very rude and unprofessional conversation in which the lawyer cut me off many times and hung up on me, I sent an additional email to the property very clearly expressing that we want out of the lease.
