STAY AWAY
Living at The Montgomery Apartments has been frustrating due to issues with utilities, deliveries, parking, smoking, noise, safety, theft, and maintenance.
Utility Billing Issues:
Despite being a single occupant, my water bills are unreasonably high, often in the hundreds of dollars. Management reviewed only three months, ignoring prior discrepancies.
Non-Functional Call Box:
The call box has been out of service for months, leading to missed deliveries and unsecured packages. Management blamed... power surges, but the call box wasn’t working before the outage.
Smoking at Building Entrances:
Frequent smoking near buildings creates an unpleasant experience for residents and guests. I regularly pass through nicotine and marijuana smoke while walking my dogs. Smoke also permeates the building, impacting comfort.
Noise Issues & Thin Ceilings:
Ceilings are paper-thin, amplifying every sound. Loud intimate noises from the apartment above and stomping disrupt my peace and scare my dogs. The poor soundproofing makes privacy impossible.
Concerns About Community Safety:
Questionable individuals are often on the property. Recently, police tased a person outside my building after a loud 30-minute incident, leaving blood on the sidewalk. Their shouting was heard across the complex. My upstairs neighbor then laughed hysterically, further disrupting the peace. These incidents raise serious safety concerns.
Package Theft & Car Break-Ins:
Package theft and car break-ins are common. The lack of security makes tenants feel unsafe and highlights management’s failure to address these problems.
Dirty Hallways & Poor Maintenance:
Hallway carpets are filthy, and there’s a persistent odor. The poor upkeep is embarrassing and discourages me from inviting guests.
Overall Experience:
Living here involves overpaying for utilities, dealing with unreliable deliveries, restrictive parking policies, secondhand smoke, excessive noise, safety concerns, and poorly maintained spaces. Management is reactive rather than proactive in addressing these issues.
If you’re considering living here, be prepared for challenges with utilities, building access, security, parking, noise, and maintenance. I hope management improves these conditions for current and future residents.
