8600 Apartment is the worst Apartment that I ever rented in.
The management is very poor. The manager is rude. Elevator barley works, full of pests and mixes, and the maintenance request will take forever to be completed. There is hardly enough parking space for the residents. Your car will be towed every day. Your complaint will not be heard.Please refer to the reviews under the apartment and you will see many poor reviews about this apartment. I do not suggest this apartment for anyone.

From the time I first walked into the office to view an apartment to renewing my lease I have received nothing but excellent customer service from Alex and Edith. When I first came to look for an apartment they both were extremely helpful with helping me find an apartment that suits all of my needs. Alex and Edith always make sure I’m ok and they are very inviting. I can tell that they both love their jobs with a passion and that is something I haven’t seen or experienced at any other apartment... complex/company. I love living in that building because Alex and Edith go above and beyond for their tenants. This is the best apartment complex I have lived at. My apartment is huge with new appliances. The tenant facilities and the main office are always clean and smell good. In conclusion I must say that Alex and Edith are amazing at their jobs and they both deserve a promotion and a raise because they are AWESOME!!!!

Good Apartment, Frustrating Surroundings
The Good: The apartment is spacious and has a good layout w/ gas appliances. No pests while I lived here and you can own a pet. Utilities are included parking and there's a guest lot. It's not a bad walk to metro - 15 minutes. Shopping center across the street has a few things like a convenience store and a restaurant which is nice if you don't want to hike all the way into SS. The Bad: The walls are extremely thin - you can hear every loud neighbor and every crying baby. Hallways are dirty... and smell of smoke and trash, esp if you live near the trash chute. NOT a non-smoking building - if your neighbor smokes, you'll smell it through a vent or an open window. Issues reported to maintenance/management often need to be followed up on by the tenant. Often they will say nothing can be done or they will make excuses for why things aren’t done when they said they would be. Email or get requests in writing with an expected date of completion so there’s a written record of needing work done. Guest parking is free but there's less than 20 visitor parking spaces for a 9 story building and towing is enforced. FYI there are a TON of young kids here that run in the hallways, play unsupervised in between cars in the parking lot as their parents tailgate, and they take over the pool. Kids and parents (mostly the parents!) stand in the middle of the driveway as they wait for the school bus instead of on the sidewalk and run out in the middle of the road forcing you to maneuver around them. The office often closes before 6pm, locks the door and turns off the light despite someone still clearly being in the back office. As for safety, the shopping center across the street has been robbed since I've been here and there have been cops at the apartment for burglary, carjacking, assault, and drug busts. In short, the apartment itself is fine, but despite 8600 being one of the less pricy apartments in the SS area, don't fall for it. You're paying for a non-stop headache here.

Not a bad place to live
The apartment building is great, but for the price of the monthly rent I would have expect more amenities. The rental office staff and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful.
