Look elsewhere.
If you’re looking for an apartment/management company, KEEP looking. I can’t remember the last time I wrote an online review, if ever, but I’m positive there are better options in this area at this price point and if I were searching for a new place, I would want to know.
My experience at The Ivy was hands down the worst experience I’ve had with a management company and as a renter in general. Management is, at the very best, incompetent, and that’s when they’re not gaslighting you and being... downright dishonest.
The building is marketed and priced as “luxury”, but really it’s just painted to look nice. We had approximately 10+ maintenance visits in the first year of living there, and most of these issues were repeated problems that they failed to effectively fix the first time. Problems included broken windows and not having a working living room window for months despite it being a “loft”, multiple repeated leaks, malfunctions in the unit/building’s locking system, and basic noise issues despite the building being marketed as effectively sound-proofed.
Making these issues even worse is the fact that maintenance is invasive and repeatedly refuses to honor requests not to enter unaccompanied or for even a brief heads up before they come to the unit for a maintenance call, and then will yell at you or try to push their way in if you try to reschedule entry. That’s if they don’t just enter unannounced, so good luck if they show up while you’re in the shower or on a work call. Bring this to management’s attention, and they will deny it, gloss it over, or blame you.
This is just an overview of the terrible experience I had here, but hopefully it helps if you’re considering the Ivy or another Modli property.
