Water Leaking Into Apartment, Indifferent Landlord, Other Issues
I currently live in a two-bedroom unit and I would move out tomorrow if I could. Where do I start? Well there are several giant telephone poles in the parking lot, right in the middle of the way. Second, my apartment was leased to me with a faulty shower head, broken bathroom drawer, a cut-rate installation of the ethernet outlet, and the hallway smells like a high school boys gym. On top of that, the laundry machines require a separate card that you have to pre-load, rather than just accepting... coins like everywhere else. Then, in my own unit, the first time it rained, water leaked from the outside, through the A/C unit in the master bedroom, and onto my bed, ruining the mattress. I returned home from work to a completely soaked bed. When I reported the issue to the landlord, they failed to fix it adequately. The next time it snowed hard, water came through again. Then, it happened a third time, and it took several days to fix. Because of their negligence, I asked for a rent reduction of $500 for one month, which the landlord refused, stating "that's not how we operate." This type of attitude is completely unacceptable. All I wanted was some accountability for my damaged property. They refused. I would have given this place negative stars if I could. I can't rate it lowly enough. I cannot wait to leave Eton Square. Shame on me for not doing enough research before agreeing to live here. I regret it every single day.

Hi Andrew - While I was not here for a majority of these issues and I cannot find anything documented other than maintenance responding to all of your concerns within 24 hours of notifying us. I did explain that we cannot cover your personal items,... as stipulated in your lease. I explained to you that you would need to contact your insurance company because we did not cause it to rain sideways against the building. While it was an unfortunate incident, it was not caused by our neglect. I did give you a $50.00 concession, offered to transfer you and even offered to let you out of your lease since you are not happy, I apologize that those solutions did not appeal to you. We do care about our owners and residents and do everything we can to ensure they are happy. We do not however, respond to threats.
