The good and the bad.
The apartment is huge and relatively safe. Money goes a long way. Most apartments in this area are half the size and almost $200 more expensive.
There was different management when I first moved in - very personable, supportive, and hard working.
Bad...
There is a washer and a dryer in each building. One set for 8 individual units. The dryer in our building has been broken on and off for a YEAR. Supposedly it’s brand new. When we all first called management we were told “call the number on... the dryer”. We don’t dry our clothes here unless we have enough time or space to hang all of our clothes in our apartment to air dry.
The windows are extremely drafty and so are the main doors on the building. You absolutely have to cover your windows or you’ll freeze OR your heat bill will be through the roof.
The parking lot is getting more and more potholes.
I was told a while back that market value is good right now and that’s why the rent increases. So if you get here, and you stay here, your rent will be the exact price as a new renter which will never make sense to me. Your rent will absolutely increase every year and you will NOT get additional amenities to assist in that.
There are city or management checks every 3 months it seems. Not the HVAC or fire alarm ones. I wonder if they actually vet people correctly if they would have to do so many of them.
I do wish we had the same apartment manager. There was more care and concern taken. We got acknowledgements for our birthdays, major holidays, and apartment anniversaries. Not that new management is “bad”. Just not the same. Also I’ve come home at different hours before closing time, and no one is here. Which is why I just call if I absolutely need something.
