Heritage Park West Apartments

This says that it's smoke-free, but it's not! I'm highly allergic to cigarette smoke, and have suffered many allergic reactions while living here. I have kept management updated through all of this, but they will not do anything about the person who lives below me who smokes exclusively in their apartment. The smoke smell is so bad (because of the years of smoking allowed) everything I own smells like smoke. If I go out of town, I have to leave my suitcase open and outside for a full week, and... do my laundry at someone else's house and pack there. Still, when I get to my destination and unpack, everything still smells like smoke. I was told this was smoke-free, only smoking in designated areas. I would not have moved here had I known. Let me preface this by saying I understand that for my price range I’m not going to get a brand new apartment. These apartments are old and outdated, not to mention that the website is extremely misleading. They were advertised on this website as one bedroom and two bedroom units 950 sq. feet. Upon arrival for my tour I was told the one bedroom is actually 750 sq. feet, and the two bedroom is 1,000 sq. feet. I don’t believe that the apartments are actually that size. They are very small. There... is a very odd, hotel like setup, where the vanity is in a small hallway across from the bedroom and there is a small closed off area for the toilet and shower in both apartments. The carpet appears to have never been replaced since being built in the one bedroom unit I toured, as well as the kitchen was EXTREMELY small. I was not sure if you would be able to open the oven all the way due to how narrow it is. In the two bedroom unit the carpet was new, but in one of the bedrooms there was a very poorly patched large hole in the wall. The kitchen in the two bedroom unit was slightly larger.
