Great Place to live! We have been living in Oak Station Place for five years! We love the location and its easy access to downtown, the Light Rail, and so much more. The people who share the building with us are pleasant and good company. The staff here are easy to relate to and respond quickly to concerns when raised.

Great team makes a great place to live! The Oaks team has always been responsive to any issues. The common areas are kept clean and the landscaping is lovely. My dog is welcomed at the office for a quick hello and a treat. Jess and Savanah are super friendly and easy to work with.

Overall good place to live

I lived here for 4 years and overall it’s a good place to live
Pros:
- Service requests are handled quickly and usually fixed the first time
- Safe - they have a security guard nights and weekends
- Convenient for buses and light rail
- Great neighborhood - close to lakes, parks, Minnehaha falls, and trails
- Great neighbors
- Manager is nice and good too - the one who is manager as of this review - overall willing to work with you if you have issues
- Amenities are great - Theater room,...
community car, fitness center, community room and patio area that can be rented for events, Luxer System for package delivery, underground parking (if you can get in, there’s usually a waitlist)
- It’s pretty quiet there - I hardly ever heard anything from my next door neighbors nor those above me (I know others have left a review that you can hear everything….I don’t know where they got that, because I’ve never had an issue, see below for my one exception to this)
Cons:
- A fellow resident’s apartment was flooded and I don’t think they handled it well as they could’ve
- Limited parking in the parking lot - and some spots are taken from Venn customers that don’t read that it’s permit parking only
- I was originally told that utilities are just my apartment - but they are actually split (gas, water, and sewer) between all units depending on square footage. This is a minus regardless…but especially when you move out - when I hadn’t lived in the apartment for a month, I was still responsible for utilities which came out of my security deposit. So despite not living in the apartment, I still had a bill since it was split between all units
- Speaking of noise - complaints about a very loud barking dog never appeared to be taken seriously and that was really frustrating
- If you break your lease early, you have to pay for it. Not only do you give 60 days notice and have to pay for that 60 days - that part I understand. But you also have to pay an additional 2 months of rent as a penalty. A company like this is big enough that they don’t need my money for an extra 2 months. That’s 4 months of rent, which is a lot and ridiculous in my opinion. Life happens and sometimes people need to leave earlier than expected (my lease was up in December and I couldn’t wait that long and when it was coming due the previous December, I wasn’t thinking I’d move anytime soon). This is the main reason it lost 2 stars. I wanted to try to email the owner, so I hope he reads this
