Mercy Place Belmont, NC

My Mother was one of the first residents of Mercy Place. It is a beautiful property. There are several issues that you need to be made aware of: There is a big deal about dogs not being allowed on the property. I understand that you have rules and tenants must abide by them, but I know you know that dogs are great for people especially the elderly. I am not asking that the policy be changed but this is just something to be considered.

The property is not a day care center, but it is being...
used as one by some of the tenants. I have visited my mother on many occasions and there are kids running up and down the halls, making noise and playing on the elevators. I have heard from several other tenants that this is very disturbing, as a lot of them have issues with walking and they can easily be knocked down by a kid by accident. This could result in a broken hip, broken arms, etc.

I am very upset by this because this is my Mother's home and the other residents as well, and it should be treated as such. I visited my Mother on Sunday and the automatic keypad did not work and I had to call her to meet me at the back door. This is very inconvenient for both of us. From what I understand, there was no management on the premises. There could have been an emergency and it would have delayed care for the ill tenant. I hate to say this, but I feel the property is going downhill and people will be looking elsewhere for housing if things do not change. I know my Mother has made many close friends there but it is not good for anyone to have to live like this.

I appreciate your time and I hope this information will be taken in advisement. I purposefully did not mention my Mother's name for this to be used against her.
