Great Community

I've been here for years. I haven't moved because it's a great place to live. The management is the best. They're reasonable. Any problem I've ever had was always resolved in a timely manner. If undesirable people get in, they are always removed, you have to follow the rules. When stuff breaks, and it does everywhere, the maintenance folks get it fixed, and they’re trustworthy. All of the staff have been here for years, so you get to know them. Finally, it’s the greatest location in... Charlotte! Everything is close by, restaurants, grocery stores, Dr. offices, everything, and it’s within a couple of miles to I-485 and I-77. Great community!

Gates are always broken.

This place is a joke. Trash is never picked up on the scheduled days. I've been here 2yrs & the rent has went up around $300 for a older 1bdrm apt. The maintenance team is great, never an issue with getting repairs fixed in a timely manner other than the gates beside my apt. The pedestrian gate is constantly getting damaged & the vehicle gate is broke more than it's working. Sometimes they will leave it open, sometimes it's closed. If this place is supposed to be a "gated community" then if it's... not working properly it should be closed & blocked off. Well today I was awoken by the maintenance men who caught some guy under my car stealing my catalytic converter. This was at 8am. They were parked right beside my car with his female getaway driver waiting for him to finish the job. They maintenance guys tried to stop them but didn't want to risk injury or death. I emailed the leasing office before 10am & as of 6pm no one has reached out to me.

Poor Conflict Resolution Skills

Management has been informed several times about the upstairs resident-violator music, stomping, banging, slamming, and loud talking. To date, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE to resolve the issue. I don't recommend this community.

Courtney Oaks, More Like Courtney Roach

Courtney Oaks? More like Courtney Roach.

The absolute worst apartment I have lived in in the Charlotte area. Before moving in, I was told that I could not see the unit I would rent because a family still lived there, my neighbor across the hall informed me that family moved out several days before I toured the property. Also, while touring the property, the leasing office stated that pest control is free of charge, and tenants would never have to pay extra for that maintenance service. However...
Courtney Oaks always charged me for requesting pest control service to stop a pest control problem that should have never been a problem. I even woke up to a German cockroach crawling on my arm. Absolutely disgusting.

There are several families who live at Courtney Oaks. Imagine being the parent of a small child or defenseless infant, and German cockroaches crawl over your child as they sleep.

While moving in, the unit was infested with German cockroaches supposedly originating from the apartment above mine according to the leasing office, my unit was 1725 Courtney Landing Drive, apartment 1207. According to the leasing office, the unit above mine began having a bad pest control problem that the leasing office forced that tenant to let them spray for bugs, and unfortunately I suffered the brunt of this pesky pest control problem. The exterminator Courtney Oaks used sprayed my apartment five times to kill these German cockroaches, but it never worked. Attached is a photo of the many German cockroaches I killed myself in between exterminator visits.

After expressing my feelings of frustration to the leasing office, they let me break my lease before it ended but not without tacking on hefty charges. This has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly urge renters to think twice before setting foot at Courtney Roach.
