RENTERS BEWARE
I would like to outline my last year at Park and Kingston to make renters aware of what they're getting into.
Not even 3 months after moving in, my dryer, washing machine, and refrigerator stopped working within the same week. I called maintenance, and the office told me it was all fixed and good to go. I get home from work and my front door was left wide-open. Trash was left everywhere. The maintenance man also proceeded to not fix anything, but make the issue worse by leaving my freezer wide... open so I lost all the food as well. I told the office about the situation and how I refused to have hime come to my apartment again. They promised the other technician would be the only one working on my apartment. A few weeks go by, I am working from home and the exact maintenance man who I said I was uncomfortable with enters my apartment. There was no email, call, or notice of him needing to fix anything or come by. Therefore, he was letting himself into my residence and I would've had no idea if I wasn't home that day. I did also notice my bedroom door would be opened when I only needed help with things in the kitchen....? It was totally inappropriate and made me feel so unsafe as a young woman living alone. How many times did he enter when I didn't know? Nothing was ever done besides a "sorry" from the office.
A major roof leak happened over my ceiling 4 months after move in and the water damage started staining the entire ceiling. I had to have a whole team of painters come "repair" this as well.
I was stuck in the elevator in the middle of the day and the call button to emergency services did not work. If I did not have my phone with me at the time, I could have been stuck for a full day in there. I called 911 and firefighters couldn't pry the doors, they had to break off the top and get a ladder down to pull me out. The firefighters said to me - "the state of this elevator is atrocious and I can't believe someone would sign off on this". The office promised to have it "fixed" and inspected, come to find out my neighbor next door got stuck TWO times after me in the span of 7 days. It was brutal to go through (pictures below) and the management's solution was a giftcard.... quite literally laughable. Upper management was aware of this all as well.
You are going to be paying the price of a high end Southend apartment with out-dated amenities, a cold leasing staff, and lack-luster community. Don't waste your time or money here.
