Good, but not worth the price

I lived here for almost 3 years and overall I was happy there, but it's just not worth the price. I am paying the same price now in downtown Raleigh as I did there but with nicer amenities, nicer and safer apartment, more professional staff, etc. For the location, amenities, and what you get, not worth it. Also upon move out I was charged ridiculous fees such as carpet damage, drawer replacements, and they un-prorated my rent after telling me it would be less just because the next person decided... not to move in for another couple weeks. Save your money and look somewhere else, or if you're going to spend this much then pick a much nicer complex.

Love it here

I swear I've written a review for The Heritage before but for some reason it's not here. Anyway, I love living at the Heritage. I never hear my neighbors, but I am on the top floor so that may be a factor... The office staff and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that some people don't pick up after their dogs. The office sends reminders and there's stations with bags and trash cans all around the complex, so there's not much more they can do. Other than that the... grounds are kept up very nicely. There's a very nice field with benches and a walkway at the back of the complex. The apartments themselves are beautiful and spacious and I've never had an issue with bugs, but again I'm on the 3rd floor.

Noise

I love the complex itself (gated, spacious apartment, nice clubhouse) but I am considering moving due to the excessive noise at all hours and poor soundproofing above me. I have notified the staff multiple times and they seem very uninterested in helping. This is the loudest apartment I have ever lived in. While I'm sure other apartments in this complex might be more quiet, the movement of the person above me causes the plates to rattle in my kitchen. If you want somewhere quiet, maybe look for... places with better construction or make sure you get a top floor apartment. The complex is supposed to have quiet hours after 11pm and this is definitely not enforced. I have lived in multiple apartment complexes before and never had an issue with noise or my neighbors and noise is something you accept when living in an apartment. The constant banging here is an entirely different level with completely disinterested staff.

The Heritage - A Great Place to Live!

I don't usually write to give reviews, good or bad, but felt I had to share what a GREAT place The Heritage apartments was to live. I moved here from the Boston, Ma area, knowing nobody. I then met the staff at the Heritage. They not only responded to my every need, but took the time to explain the area and just spend the time talking to me. They are all warm and friendly and very responsive. I felt like they were my friends rather than just people that worked there. Even changing a light... bulb was done 10 minutes after I asked! (I was just looking for the nearest place to buy one, not expecting them to come to replace it!) The pool, the clubhouse, and the gym are great! (I used the pool often as I am from the north so needed to get use to the NC Heat!). Got to meet many nice people here! Every month the Heritage has some event (Thanksgiving Dinner, Pool Party, Ice Cream Social, etc) All very well done.
I recently left (my wife and I bought a house nearby), but we already miss The Heritage. I plan to go visit from time to time!
So, if you want a great place to live in Greenville, NC, pick The Heritage. You will be happy you did!!!!

Great amenities, snobby neighbors.

I've lived here for a year - the units are beautiful, modern, clean and new. The premises are always well kept. Maintenance is prompt. I came from Treybrooke, a much older community. The only thing I really missed was Treybrooke's dog community and the large, open fields. The dog owners there were so friendly and laid back. They were the "let dogs be dogs" type, and I always found friendly dogs that my dog could romp around with. There is also a nice trail that wraps behind the buildings. Going... off-leash was never a big deal.

Idk if the Heritage just attracts a different crowd (read: pretentious) but the dog owners here just aren't as nice. I've made friends with maybe 5 dog owners; the other dog owners will go out of their way to avoid you. They will cut across the street to avoid a run-in, or ignore you as you both cross paths. They will pick up their little dogs and hold them as they walk past you and your dog, then put them back on the ground. They will make their dog stop and wait until you walk by. They will go into the other dog run instead of joining you in yours. The majority of people are like this! They do not want to socialize their dogs. Most of my dog-owner friends here have had similar experiences too. My neighbor got reported for having her dog run in the field off leash. And for the record, my dog has never even shown any hint of aggression. Its awkward to run into these ppl bc it's obvious our dogs want to play (they'll both pull on the leash/whine). Imagine this happening every day, on your morning/afternoon/evening walks. For whatever reason, many dog owners in the community are just like this. It drives me nuts - dogs are social creatures after all. Spending time outdoors is a large part of my weekends/evenings, so this was enough for me to move back to Treybrooke. I wanted a dog friendly community where dog owners actually wanted their dogs to socialize. I look forward to walks with my dog, and I just couldn't stand the people who lived here.

Also, Heritage will fine you if they catch your dog digging in the dog park because they consider it ugly and dangerous. Seriously? It's a dog park, guys. And yes, the office staff are extremely pretentious and rude as someone else has said. If you want a laid-back community, go to Treybrooke. If you want the nicer amenities at the Heritage, be prepared to deal with the ritzy/posh/stuck up crowd.
