Bug infested, absolutely disgusting.
I helped my girlfriend move into a new apartment at L&C in July and she and I have both had the most unpleasant experience. The day of moving in, we noticed a large amount of broken or dirty places in the apartment. The door going to the deck had a broken doorknob that fell off when my girlfriend attempted to open it, there is a spray paint stain on one of the cabinets, handprints on the ceiling and scuffs all over the bedroom walls. The kitchen cabinetry was practically falling apart with... pieces of cheaply and haphazardly applied wood hanging off and the inside of the cabinets were quite filthy. The washing machine reeks of mildew and has mold growing inside the liner. However, I would say the most disgusting experience overall was the hundreds of roaches my girlfriend and I discovered each night in the cracks of the cabinets and floors, which had large cracks between them. The bugs were crawling over the counters and even inside the dishwasher. My girlfriend wrote complaints repeatedly about bugs as well as about a crack in the door going out to the deck, which was so large that you could feel the air conditioning rush out of the room. Management took weeks, if not an entire month to properly address the bug and door situation, while my girlfriend had to endure unsanitary conditions. My girlfriend also informed management that the roaches seemed to be coming from behind the dishwasher and fridge, but this issue took an unreasonably long time to be addressed. After management finally sprayed, my girlfriend continued to complain about roaches, which were finally unveiled in nests when maintenance was sent up to remove the dishwasher and fridge. This revealed hundreds of bug droppings and roaches (dead and alive) behind the appliances. Maintenance did not even send a cleaner up, my girlfriend’s roommate used her own personal vacuum to clean. I am not sure what reputable place does not notice a massive roach infestation or care to properly clean before new tenants enter into a new unit, nor can I seem to grasp how nothing was done for so long about this absolute filth. All my girlfriend was offered was a measly discount and reimbursement once or twice and was allowed to exit her lease, which is pretty pointless because all other apartments in this area fill up very quickly and she was unable to find another apartment to live in.
