Amazing experience..

I just moved in at the beginning of February and I have had an incredible experience with every aspect of this move. Ashely was phenomenal in explaining everything from the contract to welcoming me on my first day and making sure the apartment was good and to see if there was anything that I needed. I love it here! My apartment is fantastic, it has French doors that allow a ton of natural light and the master bedroom and bathroom are very spacious. The community is super friendly, I highly... recommend this property for your serious consideration.

office staff leave much to be desired.

My wife and I lived at this apartment complex for 18 months. The unit itself is nice but not worth the prices they charge. They charge downtown city prices even though it is located in a small town. The current maintenance person Frank is great and very nice. For serval months during our time living here there was NO maintenance staff at all and when something would break the property manager would just try to delay. We had a Refrigerator that did not work correctly for 3+ months she always... had some excuse as to why it could not be fixed/replaced at any given time.
The property manager Ranell & office staff leave much to be desired. The office rarely returned phone calls. No way to open your own maintenance request you have to talk to the office and they don't return calls or pick up the phone most of the time.
Parking "rules" are NOT enforced by management.
Ranell would often say she had to "Contact Corporate" to find out my question but there was never any follow-up. I asked for the contact for the corporate management company on two different occasions and was never given the contact info. It felt like there were trying to hide.
They used COVID-19 as an excuse for not providing access to amenities long after local & state restrictions had been lifted.
The location is nice and quick access to the blue ridge parkway. It is a very safe area.

Management ruined it for me

Parking is horrible, and they do not tow so that parking pass they give you is meaningless. I have had to park at the front office several times in one week. Calling this apartment a gated community is a marketing ploy, at least one gate is always broken.
I had them lose my rent payment and try to charge me again by wedging a piece of paper in my door while I was gone for the holidays. That is not a secure way to communicate a time sensitive message for one, and two it is so unprofessional that...
they are unable to keep track of payments. This also happened to my roomate.

Nothing but fond memories

I lived at VPH at Balsam Mountain for 8 years, and can attest it was the best place I ever lived. Certainly the nicest amenities. Management & Staff are very professional and responsive. The quality of construction is first-rate, as I believe the complex is less than 10 years old and used modern building techniques and materials. Also, very energy efficient, I don't believe I had an electric bill over $150, and I lived in a 3 bed-room.

rude staff and price gougers

I moved in with a friend who needed a roommate to help with rent. I was added to the lease and was made to pay a deposit, which is weird. They were treating it like a new lease yet refused to provide me a key claiming my friend had gotten the max number of keys over the several years he has lived here. The parking is a travesty. They offer garages for and extra $150 per month but don’t have enough regular parking. People are forced to park on the curb. If you complain about anything the manager... gets an attitude. I won’t be renewing my lease here.
