An absolute dump
This place is a joke, the management team entered our apartment on numerous occasions unannounced and never gave a reason why other than “Sorry, that happens sometimes.” The property manager lived in the unit above us and constantly played loud music, purposely stomped, screamed, yelled, and beyond at all hours. Numerous times our patio was covered in vomit, alcohol, and other liquids from the residents above. Upon attempt to file complaints against the property manager the noise became worse... and nothing was ever done. The company also attempted to charge us for damages to the unit and still won’t provide any information or itemized bill regarding the said damages. You’d be better off living in a college dorm than at East Lake Flats.

You want to live here!
I'm now in my second year of living in my two bedroom Carver floor plan apartment at East Lake Flats and would only be happier if I could sign a longer term lease! It's a beautiful complex that's well-managed and maintained. My dealings with all the staff members, especially Abby and Karli, has been excellent in all respects, and responses to maintenance requests have always been prompt--often same day--as well as courteous and professional--Allen and Shane, especially so. Paul, another member... of the maintenance team is also a great guy.
There are several different types of units to rent at East Lake Flats. Mine is a two bedroom, 1,445 sq. ft. apartment in a four floor building. I park my car in the underground garage and use the elevator to get to my floor.
My apartment has beautiful wood floors in a large, open space for the kitchen the living room. The kitchen is gorgeous, with a large island, handsome cabinets, granite counters, plenty of drawers and cupboards, stainless steel appliances, a glass-top range with built-in microwave, a stacked washer/dryer in a closet, and space for my 5 cu. ft. freezer. My living room has the perfect space for my 82" TV, and it's great having cookouts on the balcony on my electric grill! My bedroom is huge, with a big walk-in closet and a large bathroom with a shower and plenty of cabinet space for linens. The guest room/office gets lots of light from the extra windows because my apartment is a corner unit.
East Lake Flats is pet friendly. That's actually the reason I first considered it. There are all sorts of dogs here, and I've met quite a few of my neighbors while walking my pug, Moss. There are lots of places to walk your dog on the large complex grounds, and there's a bike path just across the street.
There's shopping, dining, fast food, salons, dry cleaning, banking, StarTran, and much more nearby.
Two pools. Two fitness rooms. Two function rooms. Periodic social events.
I'm a senior citizen and have lived in many apartments in multiple cities and states since my first when I was in graduate school in 1982, and East Lake Flats is by far the best designed, built, managed, and maintained of them all!

Great place to live in south Lincoln!
I've lived here since May with one roommate in the Rockford Villa, and I really enjoy it. The villas are fantastic if you want to have your car close by. The units are pretty quality, for the most part the neighbors are pretty respectful and quiet, and I feel very safe living here. The pool is great in the summer and depending on what unit you get, you can get a pretty good deal. They're still in decently new condition, and although I've had to make a couple maintenance requests, the staff is... kind and prompt - I've usually never waited more than two or three days for something to be fixed when I get back.
Carrie and Abigail are great. They started after I moved in and I saw a huge increase in quality after they started. When I was applying, it took a long time to finish the application and wrap things up, but Carrie and Abigail are always prompt and help you out as much as you can.
My only words of warning / complaints I've ever had while living here would be, 1) If you dont like commuting for long distances and work downtown, this location may not be great for you (I realized after I was sold on East Lake Flats how far of a drive it would be for me, so fair warning). The only other thing was in the summer, there's a lot of barn swallows on the property. I think part of this was with the last property manager since when we moved into our unit in May, there was a birds nest underneath the deck above our door. It made leaving through that door impossible until the babies left the nest, but I still had occasions where they would swoop if I wasn't paying attention / walked by a unit that had a barn swallow nest. I think this will improve with the new property managers being so prompt, but again, just a quick warning.
Overall, it's a great place to live and I'd recommend it to anyone working nearby, or looking for a quiet, peaceful place to live! There's lots to do nearby and you're close to the highway, so it's in a great location for anyone in south Lincoln.
