Can the building be better... sure but it’s old. But the apartments are spacious with high ceilings and affordable! I know the building is refurbishing all apartments as they turnover. So the complaints below are probably from long time residents. If everyone took care of their apartments I’m sure they wouldn’t have insects and leaks. Building Management has room for improvement and is due for some updates but that can also run up the rent. Parking is also available which is a bonus! I would... see for yourself before taking the word of negative (or even POSITIVE) reviews.

Building is terrible!!. My whole bathroom ceiling just came down, there's mold in apartments. Super only does patchwork to cover the issue until it happens again. Just paints over the mold. For the sake of your family and their health, do NOT move to this building, only looks nice on the surface... Oh and the furniture you see in the hallway came out of people's homes that either moved and left it behind or got padlocked out. And only one elevator works in the building or should I say halfway... works. I really am being nice and trying to save you from living in the building from hell.

If you like Rats, Mice, Centipedes, HUGE Roaches, Bed Bugs, Crickets INSIDE the building, this building is for you. Landlords are liars, they promise repairs and don't make them. One super for a huge building. He cannot keep up, and will not answer the phone if you call him. They are moving a lot of their own families in the building - Very shady. They are too cheap to fix anything, but the rent is super high. You don't have to pay for water, the building does, and every year, the water... gets shut off, due to not paying the bill. Just drop by and look at the back lot. The garbage is usually overflowing, and it stinks back there. No nice landscape, just nasty. Garbage feeds lots of cats and raccoons. East Orange Property Maintenance and the Health Department should fine and penalize the landlord every day until they get their act together, and everyone there should get a reduction in rent for the way they keep the building. But they don't care either, because they don't live there. Elevators break down on a regular. Don't be fooled - once you move in, you'll be moving out within months. The building needs to be bought out by someone who is not greedy and actually wants to take good care of their tenants. You will be cold in the winter. Lots of ceiling leaks. Laundry room machines steal your money, and they barely work anyway. Please stay away. You'll regret moving there.
