Living Nightmare: A Cautionary Tale for Future Tenants

Living in this brand-new building has been nothing short of a nightmare. While we were excited to be the first tenants in our unit, the experience has been riddled with issues that make it difficult to recommend this property to anyone.

Move-In Condition: Despite being a new unit, the apartment was filthy upon move-in. There was urine in the toilet and dry urine on the seat—completely unacceptable for any living space, let alone a brand-new one.

Quality of Construction: The unit itself feels...
unfinished, with sloppy workmanship evident throughout. This lack of attention to detail gives the impression that the building was rushed to completion without proper quality control.

Common Areas: The common areas are often dirty, further diminishing the appeal of the property. While the Business Center is technically open, it’s frequently unclean, which undermines its usability.

Amenity Fee: The building charges a one-time $200 amenity fee, but many of the advertised amenities are either unavailable or incomplete. For instance, the indoor pool that was heavily marketed is nowhere near ready for use, yet incoming tenants are still required to pay the full fee. This feels like a blatant disregard for tenant satisfaction.

Recurring Issues: Over just five weeks, the fire alarm has gone off three or four times on Sundays—a frustrating and disruptive pattern. Additionally, there has already been a water pipe break, further highlighting poor construction and maintenance standards.

Parking: The parking situation is another sore point. They charge $75/month for an outdoor spot and $125/month for what they call “garage parking.” However, this “garage” is essentially just covered parking under the building with open ends—it’s misleading and overpriced.

Noise Levels: The building’s proximity to a train crossing is a major issue. The train horn and crossing gate alarm are loud and disruptive at all hours of the day and night, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Management: While the super is amazing and responsive, it feels like the owners are more interested in profiting from tenants than providing a livable environment. This lack of care is evident in every aspect of the building’s management.
