Nightmare of a Place
My girlfriend and I lived at Taylor Ranch “Luxury” Apartments for a year. When we first moved in, it was already quite rocky. We were missing parts of our apartment and it was impossible to get work orders done in a timely manner. To their credit, once they switched property managers, the work orders got fixed faster. However, issues kept arising while we lived at Taylor Ranch and as a result, we did not renew our lease. Some of the major issues we encountered are as follows:
Had work orders... open for months when we first moved in.
Our apartment was dirty when we first moved in, laundry closet doors were missing, our garbage disposal did not work, the screen from one of the windows was missing, and several outlets didn’t work, as well.
We had to call them to fix our garbage disposal and the guy who fixed it forgot a step resulting in our garbage disposal not working again.
AC was about 20 years old. Not efficient at all, we even had them look at it and that resulted in “That’s just how they are”. In summer, our electric bill was about $250 for a one bed, one bath because of the AC. Due to the AC being horrible, we ended up having to buy 4 fans in addition to the AC constantly being on.
Parking was constantly a nightmare. We ended up using the street parking on Montano Plaza until my car got broken into and robbed.
There was a constant ant infestation and massive anthills in front of our apartment that we called them to help us out with. We ended up dealing with it ourselves because they put out traps once and never checked on them again.
During our lease, the pool was only open 2 weeks out of the year.
My car got booted and then towed because the covered parking permit was not “correctly displayed” despite me having a permit and the apartment complex having my make, model, and license plate.
To top all of this off, the property manager, Valerie, accused of us of having a pitbull that attacked someone and was insistent that they “identified” us in the video. The property manager told us that she was going to file a police report against us and call animal control to take our dogs away. After coming to our apartment, they finally admitted they made a mistake and saw that we did NOT have a pitbull. I kept asking how they “identified” us and they would dodge the question.
Finally, our security deposit was returned July 1st even though we vacated the apartment and returned the keys May 28th, 34 days after.
So glad I’m done with this place.
